A Valentines Day Lookbook - Be Kind to Your Heart

I cannot believe that it is February already!!! oh my gosh!!!! this year is already flying by.  As we all know, Valentines Day is about two weeks away and I am sure that there will be a lot of posts about what to wear, dinner plans and gifts ideas. As for me, I really don't make a big deal about V-Day, I would usually go out to dinner with the hubby and kids the day before because I am not waiting for 3 hours to eat, no ma'am!!!! My favorite go to restaurant of all time is the Cheesecake Factory and I don't really have to be celebrating anything special to go there, and of course.... if I decide to go anywhere for V-Day.. it will be there.  Before I go into the educational part of this post, I wanted to have some fun first (remember that I am making my 2018 blog posts funducational) and give you  guys some insight on these wonderful looks that you will be seeing. I have teamed up with some awesome blogger babes from Orlando to bring you a variety of looks for V-Day.  We w…

Fall/Winter Slay

Hi loves,
I hope this year has started on a great note for you and that you are working on those goals you have set for yourselves.  Before I get into the fashion aspect of this post, I just want to tell you a little story of how people really try to make you deviate from the really nice person that you are.  First and foremost, God is so good and when you are His child, no weapon formed against you will prosper.  It sucks when you are working in an environment that people feel threatened by your accomplishments, degrees, or whatever you are successful in doing or achieving.  The funny thing is when you are bussing you behind all the other times, nothing is said or no one appreciates what you do... but mess up one time....OMG!!!!! it's like you committed blasphemy.  I am sure that this has happened to many of you guys before and I, unfortunately, have experienced it more that once but when I tell you that God came through for me!!!!!!!! He came all the way through, went back out …

New Year, New Slay!!!!!!

Hi my loves,
I know it's been a while since I've posted anything but it's a New Year and my plan is to post at least once a week.  I'm actually shooting for twice a week but I just started a side hustle so I probably will be a bit more busy but will try my best  (A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do).    I am not one to make resolutions because I think that you shouldn't have to wait until a new year roll around to make any changes in your life, whatever they may be. Why wait, the time is now!!!! With that being said, my prayer is that whatever goal you have set for yourself this year, it will come to fruition and you will be richly blessed. The past year was great for me, although they were some trials,  I've still managed to accomplished some of my goals such as paying off some bills, going on vacation to my country to visit family and friends, and buying my daughter her first car so I know that this year would even be greater.

I have also re-va…

Burberry Fever

Hi loves,
These pictures were taken a few days before Hurricane Irma.  This hurricane did major damage to the beautiful sunshine state. Many people were affected in ways that you can only imagine, homes were destroyed by flooding, winds, and rain and lives were lost.  Floridians are very resilient people and we will recover from this and my prayers go out to everyone that was not only affected by Hurricane Irma but by all the other hurricanes and natural disasters worldwide.
I had minor damage to the upstairs and downstairs carpet due to the rain and I had to throw away all of the food that was in the fridge and deep freezer.  I may have to remove all of the carpet and replace it with either wood or probably tile....... I'm leaning towards the wood tile more but we'll see.
This is the first time I've actually worn most of my Burberry stuff together (had it for a while now) and I thought that this would be the perfect moment to showcase this outfit.  I've had a hard ti…

Summer to Fall Transition

Hi my loves,

I know that I have been missing for a while but I'm backkkkkkk.  These past few weeks have been very hectic for me.  I've been running around with my daughter dance and her music video shoot so I didn't have time at all to post.  This post is going to be a very short today but to the point.  I am showcasing an outfit that can be worn late summer early fall, although we are still having summer here in Florida as usual, lol.

I've had this duster in my closet for about six months now and I was going to get rid of it but I decided to keep it and try to mix and match it with something I already had.  I paired it with a camisole top and black jeans and added a pair of nude shoes to complete the entire look.  I just added the clutch to jazz it up a little (wink wink).  I hope you guys enjoy this ensemble and I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

Duster: Forever21
Jeans: American Eagle
Shoes: Guess
Camisole:  TJ MAXX
Clutch: Louis Vuitton

As always, pleas…

Casual Chic

Hello guys,

I hope that this week brings you everything you wish for.  I am in post - recovery mode from hurricane Irma and my prayers goes out to those who have lost loved ones, homes, etc.  It has really been a struggle for me not having power for almost a week, so I couldn't post like I wanted to but I am finally back into the swing of things.

I know that many people give up on wearing white after Labor Day but guess what?...... I'm not one of them.  Who came up with that rule anyhow?  I think that you can and should wear whatever color you want, whenever because it's your style.  I am definitely not the kind of person to go along with the the status quo. Fashion changes every second, designers can't wait to showcase their new looks months before the season even starts, so why put limits on your style.  As the infamous Edna Woolman Chase quoted "Fashion can be bought, style one must possess".

I put this look together using a few staples I had in my close…

How to Wear a Peplum Dress

Hi Fashionistas,

I hope everyone is having a great week so far. I have been trying to juggle my work and personal life and it's struggle, real talk. I love, love my job but you know how it get sometimes when you feel like pulling all your hair out or...... Go shopping; yeah!!!!!! So I opted to do the latter (hahaha).

I have been trying to find a peplum dress for the longest and during my retail therapy session, I stumbled upon this cute boutique in the mall. I was hesitant to go in at first because I just knew that the clothes on the mannequin were not made for me (side eye). My daughter suggested that we go and check it out.... and I was glad I did. Of course, she would find some stuff for herself (another side eye) and that's the only reason she tags along but it was worth it because I found this fabulous dress below. It came in about 4 or more other colors but you guys know how much I love black, so that's the one I chose. The polyster/spandex material gives that …
